My goal as a musician and music teacher is to introduce folks of all ages to music in an environment that is fun and collaborative.
“I like to focus on my student’s interests and guide them through musical principles including technique, melody, chords, rhythm, and musicality. I use songs that make my students smile, rhythms that get them dancing and activities that encourage practicing the instrument for fun!”
Every musical journey is unique! Let’s get started!
Let’s have fun! I once had an incredible mentor who told me “If it isn’t fun, don’t do it!”. To this day, this has been a guiding principle in all that I do. While there are lessons that will challenge us and skills that are difficult to master, we can always make the journey FUN!
I believe music should be accessible to all. No matter the age, stage, or instrument, learning to make music should be an inclusive, affordable, and fun activity. I partner with organisations in my community that support these values.
Lastly, every musical journey is unique. Honouring each student’s individual learning path is my commitment.
Hi, I’m Shannon!
I am a classically trained cellist educated at McGill University (BMus in Performance). After performing in the Montreal and Ottawa regions in several orchestras and smaller ensembles, I left the musical world for more then 10 years to pursue many other roles. After becoming a mom to three, the joys of making music found their way back into my life.
Today, I am living a lifelong dream and guiding folks of all ages through their musical journeys!
