Here’s a peak at just a few of the things we do in Sing-Along classes:

Sing
From their first babbles and imitations of song, to matching pitch and creating rhymes, vocal exploration through music is a great way to support language development. After we warmup, we sing it all: from the classics in both French and English, to new artists from around the globe.

Listen
Auditory perception is one of the first senses used as infants, however listening as a skill must be learned. Listening experiences such as call & answer songs, games, and exploration of dynamics/timbre, allow little ones to build skills of attention and focus.

Move
Movement is an important part of early childhood development and is a perfect way to express non-verbal response. While we dance a lot in class, we also use lots of fun movement tools such as scarves, ribbons, and pompoms to include gross and fine motor skills in our exploration.

Rhythm
Everything we do has a beat: crawling, walking, running, dancing, and so much more, all happen to a pulse. Rhythm isn’t just essential for dancing or making music, but also for physical language and communication skills. That’s why we do lots of exploring different tempos, rhythms and playing instruments!

Social Interaction
In additional to the incredible elements mentioned above, experiencing music in a group is also an opportunity to play and interact with other children and adults in a welcome and fun environment. Participants in group classes benefit from developing empathy, kindness, confidence, and social skills.
